Our mother, grandmother, and friend, Rula Eva Brown Hill, passed away Wed., morning Jan. 9, 2002 in Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 91.

Rula was born Nov. 9, 1910 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ernest Edward and Eva Maud Ellis Brown. She married E. Morton Hill in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Oct. 7, 1935 and shared 63 years together before his passing on February 24, 1999.

Rula is survived by her three children: Ernest Morton (Sandra) Hill, Jr., Dorothy Ann (L. Wade) Ball, and Eileen Rula (Robert) Neff, 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers and sisters.

Rula lived a life of service to family and community by serving in many positions in the LDS Church. She was active in the PTA and supported her husband in the East Millcreek Chapter of the Sons of Utah Pioneers.

Rula will be remembered for her sense of humor, acts of service, unconditional love and concern for everyone, especially her family and those around her. Thanks, Mother, for being the "Best Mom and Grandma."

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 S Highland Dr., Salt Lake City. Family and friends may call at the mortuary, Saturday from 12:45-1:45 p.m. Entombment in the Garden of the Lilies Mausoleum at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
