WASHINGTON — Tomas Kaberle scored his second goal of the game with 14:21 left in the third period as the Toronto Maple Leafs earned a 3-3 tie with the Washington Capitals on Friday night.
Kaberle, unchecked, darted to the left post to convert a cross-ice feed from Darcy Tucker for his fifth goal of the year.
Mikael Renberg also tallied for the Maple Leafs, who are 4-1-1 in six games.
The Capitals, who have dropped four of five, played without wingers Peter Bondra and Jaromir Jagr. Their status for Saturday's game in Florida is unknown.
SENATORS 4, PANTHERS 2: Daniel Alfredsson had a goal and an assist and Patrick Lalime made 23 saves as Ottawa beat Florida.
Alfredsson's 22nd goal tied the game at 1 in the first period. Ottawa then bolted out to a 4-1 lead in the second period, scoring three goals in a 4:10 span.
The Senators have won five of their last eight games, collecting 12 points in the stretch.
THRASHERS 1, FLAMES 0: Milan Hnilicka had 37 saves and Hnat Domenichelli scored a second-period power-play goal to give Atlanta the victory over Calgary.
Hnilicka earned his second shutout this season and fourth overall. He has faced at least 30 shots in 25 games and entered with 1,077 shots against this year, seven less than NHL leader Mike Richter of the New York Rangers.
WILD 2, MIGHTY DUCKS 2: Paul Kariya ended a seven-game scoring drought with the game-tying goal as Anaheim tied Minnesota.
Marty McInnis also scored for the Ducks, who snapped a five-game losing streak but remained winless in their last seven games (0-5-2).
Filip Kuba and Antti Laaksonen scored for Minnesota, which lost a 2-0 lead.
