Mission presidents

SHARE Mission presidents

The first of the 2002 new mission presidents, called by the First Presidency, have been announced. The new leaders and their wives will begin service about July 1. Their assignments will be announced later. The new leaders and their wives are:

J. Robert Bonnemort, 57, Wasatch 6th Ward, Salt Lake Wasatch Stake; managing director of Applied Financial Inc.; earned bachelor's degree in economics from University of Utah, Master's of Business Administration from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John Howard and Alice Esther Sowby Bonnemort. Married Janene Margo Poulson, six children.

She received a bachelor's degree in child development and family relations from the University of Utah; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Stanford Eugene and Verle Margo Greenwood Poulson.

Kenneth E. Brailsford, 56, Orem Park 6th Ward, Orem Utah Park Stake; semi-retired general partner of Enrich International Inc.; bachelor's degree in economics from BYU; born in Niagra Falls, N.Y., to Robert Earl and Freeda Webster Brailsford. Married Linda Elaine Hughes, six children.

She attended BYU; born in Bakersfield, Calif., to Robert Earl and Dorris Beverly Dixon Hughes.

K. Hart Bullock, 63, Lakeview Ward, Centerville Utah North Stake; retired director of LDS Scouting relationships of the Boy Scouts of America; received bachelor's degree from BYU; born in Provo, Utah, to Benjamin Vern and Clara Peterson Bullock. Married Janice Mae Sill, six children.

She attended BYU; born in Las Vegas, Nev., to James Medar and Thelma Louise Crow Sill.

James W. Fitch, 61, Granite 16th Ward, Sandy Utah Granite South Stake; Church Educational System manager of administrative training; received bachelor's degree in history from BYU, master's degree in family life from Utah State University and doctorate in higher education from University of Southern California; born in San Diego, Calif., to Warren Winthrop and Dora Price Fitch.

Married Sheron Milne, seven children. She received a degree in elementary education from BYU, public relations for Forever Young Foundation; born in St. George, Utah, to Earl Richard and Ora Bertha Sandberg Milne.

Ronald A. Millett, 54, Riverton 8th Ward, Riverton Utah North Stake; president and CEO of Deseret Book Company; received bachelor's degree in accounting from Souther Utah State College; born in Orem, Utah, to Vivian and Ramona Jolley Millett. Married Susan Marie Christensen, five children.

She attended Southern Utah State College; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Kenneth L. and Thelma Wade Petersen Christensen.

Bernard E. "Bernie" Packard, 61, Williamson 2nd Ward, Orange Texas Stake; attorney; received bachelor's degree in economics from BYU, attended University of Utah Law School, received Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law; born in Boise, Idaho, to Forrest Leroy and Esther Carter Packard. Married Sarah Hayes, 13 children; she died in 1994; married Nancy Ann Dean, mother of three children.

She received a master's degree as a reading specialist from Northwestern State University in Louisiana and is a teacher in Evadale, Texas; born in Winnfield, La., to Lawson W. and Millie Elizabeth Smothers Dean.

Steven R. Sutherland, 44, Rogue River Branch, Grants Pass Oregon Stake; retired engineering manager of Cisco Systems; received bachelor's degree from BYU and did graduate work at BYU and Central Michigan University; born to Ralph LaMont Sr. and Carol Louise Salm Sutherland. Married Brenda Lee Wilkes, three children.

She attended BYU, hospice volunteer; born in Richfield, Utah, to Sharon Glade and Julia Margaret Rosenbaum Wilkes.

Jerry R. Villarreal, 56, Othello 4th (Spanish) Ward, Othello Washington Stake; owner of Villarreal Insurance and Taxes; received bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Washington and a master's degree of finance and marketing from Harvard Business School; born in Raymondville, Texas, to Geronimo O. and Eloisa Sosa Villarreal. Married Delia Angelica Briones, seven children.

She attended the University of Washington and is an instructional assistant at Othello High School; born in San Marcos, Peru, to Jose Angel and Carlotta Cotrina Escalante de Briones.
