Dr. Joseph Benson Fowler, M.D., died January 10, 2002, Oneonta, NY of natural causes.
He was born April 3, 1914 in Tooele, UT, the son of Benjamin A. and Rose C. Fowler. He is survived by two sisters, Lois (Harry J.) Todd and Norma Rose (Shirrel R.) Young; and one brother, Wendell C. (Alice Ririe). Prede-ceased by Vella (James Neil).
Was married to the former Patricia Robinson on June 6, 1939; later divorced. He is survived by three daughters, JoAnne (Ray Odorizzo), Taylorsville; Suzanne (Frank Bishop) Kalama, WA; and Pamela, Salt Lake City; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by five grandchildren. Later married Lorene Stewart, March 13, 1970 and moved to Laurens, NY. Stepchildren, Barbara and Dawn.
Joe graduated from Ogden H.S. in 1932, Weber College 1934, and the U of U 1937; U of Louisville Med School 1941; Ob-Gyn Residence '49-'49; Hahnemann School of Med Emergency Med '50-'53; Post Grad Emergency Med '73-'86. Delivered over 2000 babies from is Ob-Gyn practice and performed over 2600 major surgeries. Medical Honoraries: Blue Cross-Blue Shield Executive Board '64-'68. Executive Board of Directors St. Mark's Hospital '73 and director of emergency hospital trainees '73-'77, New York. Practiced Sullivan County General '78-'82 and general practice '82-'93.
