Our beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend, Roy Elmo Blakemore, passed away Friday Jan. 11, 2002.
Roy was born on May 28, 1920 to Ernest and Erma Ridges Blakemore in Salt Lake City, UT, where he lived his entire life.
He married Wilma (Toni) Heiner on Oct. 30, 1937 and they shared 64 wonderful years together. Roy became partners with Henry S. Day and spent 29 of his working years with the Henry S. Day Dealership.
Roy was a kind man who enjoyed playing golf, listening to jazz music, especially Benny Goodman, watching Lawrence Welk on TV, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Nickole (Mrs. Tom Backman) of St. George, Connie Blakemore of Provo; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends and family may call Tues. 6-8 p.m. at Deseret Mortuary, 36 E. 700 S., SLC, and one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral service Wed., 11 a.m. at Glenmoor 4th Ward, 9455 S. 4800 W., S. Jordan. Interment, Lake Hills Cemetery. Directors, Deseret Mortuary.
