John F. Green, 94, passed away January 11, 2002, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born to John A. Green and Maude Twitchell in Green River, WY in 1907 and was raised in Manila, UT being the first graduate of Manila High School in 1926. He was a farmer in Manila and spent part of his youth trapping in Dutch John area.

He attended BYU in 1928. John married Mary McMullin of South Jordan March 17, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived on a small farm in South Jordan with their five sons and daughter, June. They moved to Murray adding two sons to the family and later to Midvale where John served in many callings in the LDS Church, including temple worker in the Jordan River Temple. John was a Son of the Pioneers; he retired from Kennecott Copper Mine in 1969, after 29 years. John was a devoted father and grandfather and an avid fisherman, leaving a wonderful legacy.

He is survived by his sons, John E. (Arlene), Calvin E. (Colleen), Reid Sr. (Margaret), Blaine F. (Sandra), Randal L. Ostler (Janet), Steven D. (Lou-ise), Kevin J. (Aide); 37 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Alice Hatch, Marie Thayne, Shirley Cook. He is preceded in death by his wife; daughter, June Green Ostler; two brothers and three sisters.

Services will be Wed. Jan 16, 2002 11 a.m., Goff Mortuary 8090 S. State St, where friends may call Tues. 6-8 p.m. or Wed. one hour prior to services. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
