The newly completed Snowflake Arizona Temple will open its doors to the public on Saturday, Feb. 2, and continue through Saturday, Feb. 16; no tours will be offered on Sunday, Feb. 3 and Sunday, Feb. 10.
The temple will be dedicated on Sunday, March 3, 2002, in four dedicatory sessions.
Although open house tickets are not mandatory, the public is encouraged to obtain tickets online at www.lds.org/snowflake or make reservations by phone at 1-800-380-5924.
The Snowflake Arizona Temple will serve nearly 35,000 Latter-day Saints in northeast Arizona in stakes in Pinetop, Lakeside, Eagar, Show Low, Taylor, St. Johns, Holbrook, Winslow, Flagstaff, Tuba City, Chinle and Snowflake.
The Church dedicated a temple in Mesa in 1927. The Snowflake temple was announced April 2, 2000. Elder Rex D. Pinegar of the Seventy presided at groundbreaking ceremonies Sept. 23, 2000.
There are more than 313,000 members in Arizona in 643 wards or branches. The Church has 107 operating temples.
