- Bonnie Jean Ferguson Jaynes, 74, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother, sister and friend, passed away Jan 12, 2002 in Tooele, Utah.
She was born Feb 27, 1927 in Murray, Utah, to Ernest Albert Ferguson and Genevieve Pearson, the third of 11 children. She was raised in Sandy and graduated from Jordan High School. She married her best buddy, Calvin D. Jaynes, Sept 4, 1946 in Elko, NV. After Calvin's military service, they made their home in Tooele where they raised seven children. She retired from Tooele Army Depot and Tooele Federal Credit Union.
She was head scorekeeper for the WBBA and enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in various sports. She was regional director for the Tooele County unit of the American Cancer Society and through this position was privileged to shake President John F. Kennedy's hand at the Salt Lake Airport in 1962. She loved to read, travel, to listen to Pavarotti, play the organ, play cribbage, and gamble. She loved animals, especially dogs. Bonnie loved the time she spent with her Buddy, cutting firewood, cooking Dutch oven dinners and spending time together in the mountains. She was an avid University of Utah fan and looked forward to fall and the start of football season. She was a good person, a good mother and friend and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her children: Trudy (Mike) Stonebraker, Tooele; Toni (Shawn) Rupp, Stansbury; Jesse (Jeanette) Jaynes, Raleigh, NC; Terry Jaynes, Salt Lake City; Tracy Jaynes, Tooele; Tina (Kevin) McFarland, Elko, NV; Tammy Hutchins, Tooele; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grand-children; seven brothers and sisters.
