Lance Corporal Travis W. Lawrence, 20, returned to his Father in Heaven, January 11, 2002 after a tragic car accident.
Our handsome, sweet Travy was born June 9, 1981 in Bountiful to Rod and Cyndi Wray Lawrence. He grew up in Centerville, graduated from Viewmont High School in 1999. Travis was an all-around athlete, excelled in wrestling, and took pride in his physical fitness. He grew up defending our neighborhood as "He-Man" from "Skeletor" and left this world preparing to defend our Nation from its enemies as a United States Marine in the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, Charlie Company based at 29 Palms, California. He was scheduled to deploy the first of February. Having accomplished everything he was sent down on this earth to do, he is now a warrior for his Father in Heaven. Travis was a joy to his family and never hesitated to show his love and compassion for others. He was a walking sports encyclopedia. There was no greater 49'er fan. Humorous Travis stories will continue to bring our family joy and laughter. Travis influenced many people from all walks of life. He was a great and loyal friend. Travis loved being with his family. He ended each night with a hug and a kiss for his Mom and Dad.
He is survived by his parents; brothers: Colton (Jill Mansfield), Weston, Shay and sister, Casja; grandparents, Jerry and Beth Lawrence and David and Norene Wray serving in the Nauvoo, IL. Mission; many loving uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his Aunt Debbie Wray. We take great comfort in their happy reunion.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002 at 1 p.m. at the Centerville 20th Ward, 210 East 1825 North, Centerville.
