SHARE Uinta Forest workers plan day at center

Uinta National Forest personnel will host an "Interagency Search and Rescue Day" Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. at Strawberry Visitor Center, 25 miles outside Heber City.

Activities continue throughout the day until 3 p.m. and are free to the public. Life Flight helicopter teams will demonstrate hoisting techniques used to remove individuals from life-threatening situations. Wasatch County Search and Rescue will display equipment used in their operations, explain search and rescue methods, and share tips for reducing emergencies in the backcountry. Utah State Parks will present information on snowmobile opportunities, safety, trail grooming, ethics and avalanche awareness.
