- Alice Rufener Fisher passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, due to compli-cations from renal failure at the age of 79. Alice was a wonderful and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will always be remembered fondly by all who knew and loved her.

Alice was born November 11, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Emma

Michael and Henry Rufener. She graduated from South High in 1939 and married Royal Pierce Fisher on January 1, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple. Royal and Alice have eight children, 26 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Alice is survived by seven of her children: Shannon Crist, Bountiful;

Diann (Dee) Linge, Murray; Art (Jan), Centerville; Blaine (Diane), Layton; Terry "TJ" (Paula), Ogden; Bob, Ogden; and Alison Brumley (Layton); brothers and sisters, all living in Salt Lake City: Bill (Betty) Rufener; Loraine (Don) Brewster; Bob (Margene)

Rufener; Bud (Wanda) Rufener; Helen (Fred) Biesinger. She is preceded in death by her husband, eldest son, R. Lynn, daughter-in-law Colleen, grand-son, Josh, parents and brother, Don.

Alice grew up and was married in Salt Lake City. She and Royal later moved with their young family to Bountiful. After nearly 20 years in Bountiful, they moved to Mountain Green where Alice worked at Browning. Royal and Alice later moved to Roy and then to South Ogden. Alice was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in numerous callings throughout her life.

Alice would have wished, and her family wishes, to thank all the countless doctors, nurses, and other health-care professionals who treated her so kindly and took such good care of her.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2002 at the Bountiful 50th Ward Chapel, 33 South Moss Hill Drive (1500 East) Bountiful. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Friday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
