ROSEMONT, Ill. — A 10-second rally late in the third period lifted the Chicago Wolves to a 4-2 victory over the Utah Grizzlies Thursday night at Allstate Arena.
With Utah clinging to a 2-1 advantage, Chicago capped a comeback when Kurtis Foster and Kamil Piros scored at 5:28 and 5:18, respectively. Once ahead, the Wolves turned to goaltender Norm Maracle. He wound up blanking Utah the rest of the way and finished with 18 saves.
Jarrod Skalde and J.P. Vigier had Chicago's other goals, while Greg Hawgood and Jim Montgomery netted Utah's scores. Grizz goaltender Chad Alban took the loss after facing 45 shots.
Western Division co-leader Utah (23-17-3-2) returns to the E Center today and Saturday to face the Manitoba Moose. It'll be the final homestand for the Grizz before the 2002 Winter Olympics.
