The trial of Kimble Smith that was to begin Jan. 17 has been rescheduled for April 11-12 at the request of defense attorneys.

On Aug. 31, Smith and another young man, Christian Paul, both 17 at the time, were accused by police of drag racing when Smith's white Porsche Turbo struck and killed 13-year-old Craig Warburton and seriously injured 13-year-old Brian Orr.

Smith faces charges of manslaughter, a second-degree felony; three counts of aggravated assault, third-degree felonies; and one count of exhibition driving, a class B misdemeanor.

Paul stood trial on the same charges in November and was found guilty only of exhibition driving.
