Albert "Bert" Battiste, age 92, died January 18, 2002 in Bountiful, Utah.

Born May 18, 1909 in Rockvale, Colorado to Albert and Victoria Donatti Battiste. He married Evelyn Jacqueline Fisco in Salt Lake City on January 19, 1930. They later

divorced in 1958.

Bert was reared and educated in Rockvale, Colorado graduating from Rockvale High School in 1927. He was very cheerful, humorous and social and enjoyed spending times with others. He enjoyed music, dancing, gardening and repairing watches. He was a member of the St. Olaf's Catholic Church and a past member of the Knights of Columbus in Helper, Utah.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn; two daughters, Jackie (Alberta) and husband Jim LaRocque of Centerville, Utah; Myrleen Fairchild of Cool Ridge, West Virginia; son-in-law Bill Robertson and wife Rosie of Bountiful; 14 grandchildren, 34, great grandchildren and four great-great-grandson. Also survived by one nephew, Ed Battiste and one niece, Gerri Cowan both of Colorado. He is preceded in death by son, Albert Daniel Battiste Jr.; daughter, Eileen Ruth Robertson; son-in-law Jack Fairchild; two brothers and three sisters.

Friends and family may call on Jan. 20, 2002 from 3 until 4 p.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East with a prayer service following at 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 21, 2002 at 12 noon at St. Olaf's Catholic Church, 1800 South and Orchard drive.
