BASKETBALL HONOR: Utah State's Tony Brown was named the Big West Conference player of the week after leading the Aggies to a pair of home wins over Centenary and Idaho State last weekend.
The senior guard averaged 22 points and 5.5 assists in the two games, shooting 75 percent from the floor and 67 percent from three-point range.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Weber State kicks off Big Sky Conference play Thursday and Saturday at home against Portland State and Eastern Washington. Both games tip off at 5:45 p.m. in the Dee Events Center as the first game of a basketball doubleheader with the men's basketball team, who host Montana State and Montana respectively.
The Wildcat women are currently 7-5 on the season.
