Joseph Bierman, 85, of Monterey, CA, died of natural causes Sat. Jan 5, 2002.
He was born May 19, 1916, in Salt Lake City to John Bierman and Anna Hoek-stra. Joseph was sealed to his lifelong sweet-heart, Ruby May Bennion, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1938.
Joseph lived in the Monterey Bay area for 55 years. He was a New York Life Insurance salesman for 20 years. He served in the Navy Reserve, was president of the Junior Jaycees, and was an active member of the PTA. He participated in the planning of Dennis the Menace Park in Monterey.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife Ruby, 1993; daughter, Jackie Lou, 1945; and son, J. Gary Bierman, 1975. He is survived by two children, Vicki (Alton) Ogborn, Salinas CA, Terri (Cindy) Solomon, Monterey, CA; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Interment was Jan. 9, 2002, Mission Memorial Park, Seaside, CA. Memorials: donations to the American Diabetes Association.
