UNIVERSITY OF UTAH DEPARTMENT OF BALLET; "SHOWCASE II," Thursday and Friday, Jan. 24 and 25, 7:30 p.m., with a 2 p.m. matinee on Friday, Jan. 25; Alice Sheets Marriott Center for Dance, U. campus. Tickets $8 at the door. The program will include ballet, jazz and contemporary creations produced and performed by U. students.

ORGANIST JAMES DRAKE, Friday, Jan. 25, Madsen Recital Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center, BYU, 7:30 p.m. Free. Drake, head of the organ department at Utah State University, will perform a recital featuring the works by Mendelssohn, Vierne and Bach.

SALT LAKE SYMPHONY; "AN EVENING IN VIENNA," Friday, Jan. 25, 7:30 p.m., Salt Lake Tabernacle. Free. Directed by James Michael Caswell, the symphony will feature soprano Erin Palmer in works by Richard Strauss, Puccini, Beethoven and Donizetti.

TABLADO DANCE COMPANY, Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25 and 26, 8 p.m., East Studio, Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center. Admission $10 at the door. Directed by Solange Gomes and Repertory Dance Theatre member Jim Moreno, the dance company will present an evening of flamenco dance and music. Other members include Josh Larson, Joan Maymi, Adreana Martinez and Heather Nelson.

GUITAR/CELLO DUO RICHARD SMITH & JULIE ADAMS, Saturday, Jan. 26, 7:30 p.m., Temple Square Assembly Hall. Free. Smith and Adams, of Nashville, Tenn., will perform works by Bach, Chopin, Lima and Mozart.
