Ashoff, who Nielsen believes is the first woman head coach of a boys basketball team, coached the New South Wales, Australia, female 18 and under basketball for the past seven years.

Under Goff, the Tigers played for the state championship in the 1999-2000 season.

Currently, the Tigers are 3-8 overall and 2-4 in Region 15 play.

The first game is Friday when the Tigers host Piute.

NEW JUDGE COACH: Carolyn Richards was hired Monday to replace Dave Livingston as the softball coach at Judge Memorial High School, Judge Memorial athletic director Dan DelPorto said.

Livingston was recently named the football coach and stepped down from his softball duties to concentrate more on football.

Richards played collegiately at Cal Poly-Pomona under Shirley Topley, who was the coach of the U.S. Olympic softball team.
