Kathleen Olsen Goudy, born in 1942, died on her 60th birthday Saturday, Jan 19, 2002 after a long battle with cancer.

She spent her life reaching out to others. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved life and found joy in her Savior Jesus Christ. She had many talents, among them where painting, gardening, crafts, and scrap booking. She loved nature, as a volunteer for the Aviary she nursed countless birds back to health. She loved her family and always made them first in her life. She served many special needs children throughout the years as a school teacher. She served in many positions in the church and loved to serve. She especially found joy in being a loving wife and mother.

Learning was her passion and she could always be found gaining knowledge on some subject and loved sharing what she found with her children and grandchildren.

She married her true love, Samuel D. Goudy, Sr. Dec 24, 1981. She is survived by him as well as eight children, Cynthia Taylor, Los Angeles, CA, Tammy Munk (Allen), Winnemucca, NV, Debbie Barrett (Scott), Clear-field, UT, Samuel D. Goudy, Jr., SLC, UT, Staci Vowles (Eric), Plano, TX, Jason Goudy (Sherrie), Taylorsville, UT, Kerri Christensen (Glenn), Grapevine, TX, Joseph Jacob Goudy, Taylorsville, UT; and 21 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Jacob H. Olsen; and one grandson, William Jeffrey Henriod.

Services will be Wed. Jan 23, 2002, 10 a.m., Meadowbrook Second Ward chapel, 1250 W. 4375 S. Friends may call Tues., Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 S. 2300 E, 6-8 p.m. and Wed. for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 N. "N" St. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Mortuary.
