WEST VALLEY CITY, UT - <! > Steven L. Hammond, 44, died Monday, January 21, 2002, at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, after a courageous life-long battle with Spina Bifida.
Born October 6, 1957, Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Wayne and Amelia Kingsford Hammond. Graduated Bonneville High School, attended BYU. Served mission in Salt Lake City. Married 1985 to Gaylene Rollins, later divorced.
Employed at Discover Financial Services many years. Enjoyed company of many friends and co-workers, fishing and watching sports - especially baseball and his beloved New York Yankees.
Surviving are parents of Idaho Falls; sisters, Janice (Mel) Duehlmeier,
Logandale, NV; Bonnie (Garth) Gunderson, Menan, ID; Lorie (John) Mitchell, Kaysville, UT; brothers, Jim (Marcia) Hammond, Placentia, CA; Richard (Donette) Hammond, Middleton, ID; many nieces and nephews.
Services 1 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2002, Westview LDS Ward, 2345 W. 17th So., Idaho Falls. Visitation Friday 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at church. Burial in Iona Cemetery by Wood Funeral Home, Idaho Falls.
