Former radio host Mills Crenshaw, who was on the forefront of three initiatives to limit taxes, has been charged with two counts of failing to render a proper tax return, third-degree felonies, and two counts of willful evasion, both second-degree felonies.

An auditor for the Utah State Tax Commission reviewed Crenshaw's file and found that he owed taxes "for at least the years of 1997 and 1998," according to documents the Utah Attorney General's Office filed in 3rd District Court.

Crenshaw received income from his employer or business but did not file tax returns and did not pay taxes during that time, according to court documents. Crenshaw also "appeared to be using a business/corporate account to facilitate the transfer of funds to his personal use," the documents state. Calls to Crenshaw Tuesday were unanswered.
