Robert Boyd Hulick passed away peacefully January 21, 2002 in Salt Lake City, UT. at St. Mark's

Hospital due to complications related to

diabetes.

The son of Albert (Gus) and Evelyn Hulick, he was born on June 14, 1935, in Provo, Utah. Married Jill Smith on July 2, 1967.

He is survived by his wife, Jill; and children, Kirk, Chris and Jennifer; son-in-law Alfred Bautista; and step-granddaughter, Tami; loving father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wallace and Grace Osborne, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lee (Sally) Smith, Steve (JoAnne) Smith, LuAnne (Fritz) Endres, Fonette (Stephen) Thompson, many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, John, Jerry and Kent.

He attended BYU where he received a B.S. in Geology. He then served in the U.S. Army Security Agency from 1957-1960, in Hokkaido, Japan.

During his 38 year career with the Utah Department of Transportation, he began as a Materials Lab Tech. in 1960 in Cedar City, Utah. He was then promoted to Materials Engineer in 1963, and later to Project Engineer in 1968. In 1979, he was once again promoted to the position of Programming Engineer and was subsequently transferred to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he retired in 1999. After retirement he worked periodically as a consultant for Ward Engineering.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and golf. He could fix anything he put his mind to. He loved to read the morning papers while drinking a piping hot cup of coffee and doing crossword puzzles.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan., 26, 2002, 2 p.m. at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) where family and friends may call the day of the service from 1:00-1:45 p.m. Interment Mountain View Memorial Estates.
