ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — The Naval Academy announced two new programs designed to curb drinking among its 4,000 students.

The school blames alcohol for several disciplinary problems in recent years.

One program will enlist help from local bars and liquor stores to discourage sales to underage midshipmen and curb excessive drinking. Another program will collect data to dispel perceptions that most midshipmen drink heavily.
