FAIRFIELD — The public is invited to Camp Floyd-Stage-coach Inn State Park as the Olympic torch travels by pony express to the Cedar Valley area on Feb. 6 between 9 and 9:30 a.m.
Pat Hearty of South Jordan will carry the torch into Fairfield escorted by members of the Utah Civil War Association and the Utah Fife and Drum Corps, whose members will be costumed in 1860's military attire.
Letters specially written for the event will accompany the torch and be delivered to school classes that have been invited to attend.
Anyone interested in greeting the torch and rider are asked to arrive by 8:30 a.m. at the state park located 25 miles southwest of Lehi on U-73.
