SOUTH JORDAN — A two-alarm fire here early this morning destroyed a couple's house and left investigators with a lot of questions.
The man was sent to the hospital, but officials are now asking for the public's help in finding his wife.
The fire at the two-story house, 11734 S. 4210 West, was reported at 1:14 a.m. By the time fire crews arrived, the flames were already through the roof, South Jordan Battalion Chief Phil Harris said.
Fire crews found the man who lived at the house standing outside. He had cuts and other injuries that were apparently not fire-related, Harris said. The man was taken to Jordan Valley Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
His wife was apparently not at the house, but investigators have not been able to find her, Harris said. Earlier in the day, the woman had called police from an undisclosed location to request police drive by her house and check on her husband, he said.
