- Barbara Jean Taylor Gelder, 73, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away January 25, 2002, following a brief illness.

Born Dec 10, 1928, in Salt Lake City to Rodney Taylor and Irene Sherwood. Attended Brigham Young University. Married Robert Austin Gelder Dec 20, 1949, in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death. She loved reading, sewing, baking, and genealogy. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and devoted her life to living its teachings.

Although for thirty years her body was slowed by multiple sclerosis, she remained active to the end in raising a family, maintaining relationships, and church service. She is beloved and honored by her family and all who knew her.

Survived by brother, Rodney S. (Adrianne) Taylor, Bedford, TX; children, Theresa (Jeff) Gale, Katy, TX, Mary Gelder, Riverside, IL, Wayne (Kathy) Gelder, Bountiful, Bruce (Carolyn) Gelder, Iowa City, IA; foster daughter, Roselyn Pete, Cedar City; 15 grandchildren; aunts, Edna Hewlett, South Jordan, Camilla Moyle, Salt Lake City; brother-in-law, Dr. Nephi K. (LaPreal) Kezerian, Provo.

Services will be Wed. Jan 30, 2002, 11 a.m., Maple Hills LDS Chapel, 1350 E. 1975 S, Bountiful. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N.
