As a high school senior, I would like to thank teachers for being real people underneath the assignments and notes and quizzes. For me, the most wonderful part of school, besides peers and dances, is the friends who also call themselves teachers.
I have known some teachers for three years and had classes from others for just as long. Getting to know these teachers has been the greatest joy. I have called one teacher on occasion just to find out how she's doing, wish her happy birthday or talk about something from class. The insight gained from genuine discussions with teacher-friends is not readily found outside the classroom.
Thank you, teachers, for caring about your students, for being real people and, especially, for being such wonderful friends.
