WASHINGTON — The Centers for Disease control has awarded a $164,058 grant to the Rape Prevention and Education program of the Utah Health Department.
It is intended to assist rape and sex assault victims in rape crisis centers statewide and to help fund education programs in schools, churches and other community programs.
Rep. Chris Cannon, R-Utah, who announced the grant, said, "Victims of these terrible crimes deserve to receive all the aid they need and this program helps do that. . . . This grant is a needed bonus to a vital program in Utah."
