SHARE Black raises $1.5 million to assist Allison victims

Country singer Clint Black brought along some musical celebrities and raised $1.5 million for people still recovering from flooding caused by Tropical Storm Allison.

The One Houston United Telethon was broadcast on five Houston television stations Saturday night.

The event featured Black and performances by his wife, Lisa Hartman Black, as well as Lyle Lovett, jazz artist Joe Sample, Tejano group La Mafia and other local musicians.

There also were taped appearances by former President George Bush and his wife, Barbara; singer Amy Grant; the Beach Boys; TV host Jay Leno; ABC News' Charles Gibson; and U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee.
