PANGUITCH, UTAH - <! > Samuel Earl "Sam" Allen, 81 of Panguitch, Utah, died Jan. 28, 2002 in Panguitch.

He was born on March 16, 1920 in Panguitch to John Earl and Beulah Crosby Allen. He married Mary Lorraine Sevy on May 3, 1942 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps. He served on the institutional counsel of Southern Utah State College in Cedar City. He served on the board of directors of the A.R.C. for the 5 counties for 20 years. Served on the Garfield County School Board for eight years. He owned and operated Allen's Ford dealership in Panguitch for 47 years. He was a director of the Bank of Iron County in Parowan.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lorraine and son, Charlie McKee Allen, both of Panguitch; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Clem C. (Colleen) Allen of Provo; George (Sheila) Allen of Mesa, AZ; John Horton (Oral Kay) Allen of Logan; Rowa (Jim) Lee of Panaca, NV. He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Roger Earl Allen; sister, Cleo Henrie.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002 at 1 p.m. In the Panguitch LDS Stake Center, 550 S. 100 W., Panguitch. Friends may call at the stake center on Friday evening from 6-8 and on Saturday from 11-12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Panguitch Cemetery with Military Rites by the Panguitch American Legion Post #25.
