‘Imagination Celebration’ begins in late February

SHARE ‘Imagination Celebration’ begins in late February

More than a dozen different performances are scheduled for the first "Imagination Celebration," which begins Feb. 26, 2002. Thus far, funds have been used for teacher-training sessions — training on such subjects as pottery, Greek art, myths and legends, and how to introduce dance into original operas, as well as master's classes for young artists.

During the "Imagination Celebration," the public will be invited to see the results of all the professional/student collaborations. Here's a partial listing of performances (for a complete list, call 974-2424):

Tuesday, Feb. 26: World premiere of Libby Larsen's opera "Dreaming Blue," featuring a chorus of Mt. View Elementary School students, 7 p.m., Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center.

Thursday, Feb. 28, and Friday, Mar. 1: The Kennedy Center performance of "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse," 3:30 and 7 p.m., Rose Wagner.
