- Phillip Kent Sharp passed away of natural causes in his home on the last day of 2001.

He was born April 29, 1920 to Jesse Esrum and Russlletta Sharp in Holbrook, AZ.

He served valiantly in the European theatre during World War II in the army. He married Milda Hollingshaus Johnson January 23, 1951. She died September 5, 1994. They made their home in Clearfield, Utah for 44 years where they were active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He retired from Hill Air Force Base where he worked as an airplane mechanic. He loved gardening and playing board games with his family. In later years his friends at the Heritage Center in Clearfield became his second love.

He is survived by his daughters, Mary (Allen) Carter, Orem; Irene Parkhurst, Kaysville; Ruth (Emil) Bertot, Bountiful; Nancy Goodwin, Moses Lake, Washington; Verlynn (Bruce) Koster, West Point; Nola Kay Sharp, Layton; and many grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Clara Taylor.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 4, 2002 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 South State Street.

Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:45 - 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.

Layton will miss the little old man on his blue rascal.
