SALEM — City officials on Wednesday asked Sunrise Engineering to prepare a contract for the company to determine how to increase water flow at a city-owned spring and identify the best locations for future wells.

The City Council will review the contract proposal once it is prepared, Mayor Randy Brailsford said.

The city gets its water from Maple and Water canyons, said City Recorder Jeff Nelson.

In other matters, new council members Dale Wills and Dale Boman were sworn in along with Brailsford, who is starting his third term. Lisa Horton was sworn in as the new ambulance chief, replacing Wills.
