Jessie Pearl Pickup, age 85, of
Randlett passed away at the University of Utah Hospital on Dec. 30, 2001 from complications of a stroke.
Jessie was born Oct. 25, 1916 in Skidmore, MO to Edward and Ora Gray Coston. She married LaRue Pickup April 8, 1935 in Ft. Duchesne. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Jessie was a active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings, her favorite being in the Young Women's Program. She was a merchant at the Wong C Wing General Store and later an escrow officer at the First Security Bank for over 20 years. She loved to garden, and shared her flowers and vegetables with everyone.
Jessie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her compassion, concern, and care giving was unlimited.
She is survived by her husband LaRue, Randlett; children Lyle (Ann) Pickup, Sandy, UT; Velma (Bill) Lane, Lakewood CO; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother James Coston, and a sister Ethel Young.
Funeral services will be held at the Roosevelt Stake Center, 447 East Lagoon Street, Saturday, January 5, 2002 at 1 p.m.. Viewing will be held Friday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary, 457 East 300 North, and Saturday at the church from 12 -12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
