Francis Charles Olds, Sr. passed away in Salt Lake City on January 28, 2002.

Born October 24, 1924 in Sayre, PA. Graduated from Cortland Jr.-Sr. High School in Cortland, NY in 1942. Served in the US Army during World War II from 1943 to 1945. Studied at the University of Syracuse, NY, the University of Geneva, Switzerland and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC, where he graduated AB on June 5, 1950, majoring in Comparative Literature. Moved from North Carolina in 1951 to Utah, where he has lived ever since.

Married Brataslava Slovakia August 28, 1948. Survived by these three beloved children whom he mourned the loss of for 47 years, Orin Kenneth Olds III Baxter, Michael Vladimir Olds Baxter, Radona Olds Baxter Clark (Corbin) and Erica June Olds, who preceded him in death as an infant. Married Gerda Klara Wittner November 10, 1955.

Survived by his children Hannah Olds Bair (George), Salt Lake City, UT., Francis Charles Olds, Jr. (Josephine, Mindy), Hildale, UT., Margaret Olds Cooke (Lester), Taylorsville, UT., Rebecca Olds Bradshaw (Kevin), South Jordan, UT. Married Dorothy Mae Wyler March 14, 1988.

Survived by sisters, Dorla Olds Whipple (Paul), Ohio and Fern Olds Ridgeway (Don) Piaonia, CO.; and many grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2002 at 10 a.m., at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple. Friends may visit Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services at the mortuary.
