A. Lewis Wilhelm, age 81, passed away January 29, 2002, in Sandy, Utah after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born July 17, 1920 in Vernon, Arizona to Effie Lewis and Alvin Lee Wilhelm. Married F. LaMar Hill in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 17, 1942. He served faithfully in many church callings throughout his life, including service in the Jordan River Temple and missions to the Philippines, Manila and South Africa, Johannesburg Temples. He especially loved serving as a sealer in the Jordan River Temple. He was a veteran of the Air Force, having served his country during World War II.
Lewis is survived by his children, L. Kent Wilhelm, James (Cheryl) Wilhelm, Douglas M. Wilhelm, Pamela (Steven) Koch, Ann (Terry) Chisholm; 32 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and brother and sister, Clair Wilhelm and May Wilhelm.
He was preceded in death by his wife F. LaMar Wilhelm and his children Robert Gene (Clair) Wilhelm and Phyllis R. (Jay) Crandall.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the Sego Lily LDS Chapel, 10310 Ashley Park Dr. (2130 East). Viewing on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Sego Lily Chapel. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
