LAS VEGAS — Tony Orlando will spend 13 weeks headlining at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, casino owner MGM Mirage Inc. announced.

Orlando, who was inducted earlier this year into the Las Vegas Casino Legends Hall of Fame, will perform six shows a week beginning Jan. 22 at the downtown casino-hotel's 400-seat Theatre Ballroom.

"The exhilaration I get, performing in Las Vegas, never dims," Orlando said in a statement. He called the city "the top rung for live performers."

The 57-year-old has been a popular Las Vegas performer since the mid-1970s.

His career includes five hit records, a network television variety series, two runs on Broadway, a People's Choice Award for Entertainer of the Year, three American Music Awards, Entertainer of the Year in Las Vegas and Atlantic City and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
