Sidney Ray "Sid" Grizzel, age 56, returned to his Heavenly home on Friday, December 28, 2001 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

Sid retired from the Air National Guard in 1992 and later retired from Hill Field. He received numerous citations and awards in both areas and was well liked by his co-workers. He will be missed by many family and friends.

He is survived by his "Girls" Velvet and Monk. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Woodall (Roger) of Taylorsville; son, Richard (Sheri); two grandsons, Justin, Tyler, Louisville, KY; former wife, Susan Baldwin (Larry); and a daughter, Laurie Cox (Larry), Roy, Utah; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to issue a "Special Thanks" to Emma, Eric, and Darren Reese who made it possible for Sid to spend his remaining time at home. Also a special thanks to the Ogden IHC Hospice team for all their help and instruction.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2002 at 10 a.m. at the LDS Chapel at 373 15th Street (15th and Washington), Ogden, Utah followed by a Military graveside service at the Providence Cemetery in Logan at 1 p.m.

The family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
