SHARE Obituary: Charles LaMont Humes

After valiantly fighting a long illness, Charles LaMont Humes passed away early Wed. morning, January 2, 2002, at the age of 63.

Mont was born to Howard and Edna Humes in Wallsburg, Utah on April 10, 1938. Drafted into the military in 1965, Mont bravely served his country in Korea, and earned the rank of Corporal. Specialist 4. After being honorably discharged in 1967 Mont worked for W.W. Clyde Construction for over 30 years. It was while working there that he met his wife Evelyn and the two were married July 18, 1981. He took on Evelyn's daughter, Danelle, as his own and later had two boys, Garret and Matthew.

Working at Clyde's, Mont traveled a lot over the western states, but his heart was always in Wallsburg, where he and Evelyn built their home with their own hands over the course of five years. A quiet, private man, Mont was both patient and kind to anyone he met. Being outdoors and taking care of his farm and animals is where he felt most comfortable. Mont was a source of strength to his family and friends.

He leaves behind a wife of over 20 years, three children, numerous extended family, and a very lonely little dog, Rebo. He is greatly missed by all and his absence will always leave a hole in their hearts and souls.

There is a viewing Friday, Jan. 4, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 No. Main Street, Heber City for those who wish to attend. Funeral services will be held Sat., January 5, 2002 - 11 a.m. at the Wallsburg LDS Chapel.

His family would like to thank everyone who has helped out in so many ways over the past few months. Your love and support have been daily miracles in their lives.
