John Carl Marcusen, 80, of Leland, died Friday, January 4, 2002 at the Oakview Living Center in Provo.

He was born on Jan. 1, 1922 in Leland, Utah, the son of Alvin and Mary Margaret Coltrin Marcusen. He married Florence Frampton on Sept. 11, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died on Nov. 14, 1990.

He attended Spanish Fork Schools and graduated from Spanish Fork High School. He attended Utah State University. He was a farmer and owned and operated a family farm. In his youth he was awarded the Outstanding Young Farmer award. He also was a contractor for concrete

irrigation systems throughout the state of Utah. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include one son and three daughters: David Marcusen M.D. of Palm Springs, California; Patricia (Mike) Wintch, of Murray; Charlyn (Rick) Bellezzo, Seattle, Washington; Sheila Marcusen, of St. Louis; four grandchildren; one brother and two sisters: Ila Gower, of Solvang, CA; Clarese (Stewart) Anderson, of Manteca, CA; Duane (Joy) Marcusen, of George, Washington. He was preceded in death by his wife; and two sisters: Margaret and Grace.

Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 7, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the Leland LDS Ward chapel, 610 W. 400 No., Spanish Fork. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 187 S. Main St., Spanish Fork on Sunday evening 5-7 p.m. or Monday at the Ward Relief Society Room one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
