RICHFIELD, UT- <! > On January 2, 2002, our loving father, Boyd A Ward, passed away peacefully from this life and was embraced by his mother for the first time in forty years.
Dad was born July 18, 1936 in Los Angeles, CA to Afton and Am-asa Steed. He was raised by his loving mother and stepfather, John Paul Ward.
Dad married our beautiful mother, Janene Last, Dec 28, 1959 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mom and Dad's lives were blessed (or cursed) by four wonderful children, Donna, Shelly, Brent, and Holly.
Dad served honorably in the US Army from 1960-1962, as a military police officer. Police work became dad's passion. He loved helping people and making the world a better place to live. He served on the Orem, University of Utah, Jackson, WY and Richfield City police departments.
We will be forever grateful for the life lessons our father taught us: how to laugh, how to treat others, how to serve and how to endure. Thank you, Dad, for these gifts, for the love and for the laughter. We will love you always.
Dad is survived by our mother, Janene, his loving wife of 42 years. Thank you, Mom, for taking such good care of Dad. He is also survived by his four children, Donna and Brad Duffin, Richfield, Shelly and Kennley Savage, Mona, Brent and Nancy Ward, Hampton, VA, Holly and Brett Packer, Sandy; 13 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Joan (Robert) Watson, Twin Falls, ID, Don (Chris) Ward, Anchorage, AK, Gary (Sandy) Ward, Bentonville, AR.
