"Singin' in the Rain" director Stanley Donen will be honored by the American Society of Cinematographers at the group's annual awards ceremony Feb. 17.
Donen will receive the Board of Governors award, the only honor the group gives to someone who is not a cinematographer.
"Stanley Donen created a memorable body of work, including many classic films that have become an integral part of our culture," said ASC President Victor J. Kemper. "He has an incomparable gift for translating music and dance into cinematic art."
Other Donen films include "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers," "Funny Face" and "Damn Yankees."
