1. Bountiful (9-0) Class: 4A

Was: 1. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: With Jeff Jensen out with a sprained ankle the Braves maintained their course with a pair of region victories. He should be back this week.

2. Cyprus (9-0) Class: 4A

Was: 3. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: The Pirates remained unbeaten with region wins over Highland (61-50) and a narrow victory at East (38-36).

3. Sky View (8-0) Class: 4A

Was: 4. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: The Bobcats passed their first major Region 4 contest with a blow-out victory over Logan. They made it look almost easy. Next up: at Weber and at Bonneville.

4. Mountain View (8-2) Class: 5A

Was: 5. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: The Bruins are playing the best and most consistent basketball behind Dan Henry and Karl Riding in Class 5A. They visit Alta and host Jordan this week.

5. West Jordan (8-2) Class: 5A

Was: 6. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: The Jags, after falling to Murray, got back to their winning ways with the help of a healthy Stephon Mills, who scored 15 in the region victory over Kearns.

6. Jordan (6-3) Class: 5A

Was: 3. Last week: 0-0. Outlook: The Beetdiggers were the latest victims of the Hillcrest Huskies. Jordan has two tough Region 3 contests by hosting Orem and traveling to No. 1 Mountain View.

7. Payson (8-2) Class: 4A

Was: 9. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: The Lions are right where they want to be after region wins over Lone Peak and Spanish Fork, but have two home tests with Timpview and Provo.

8. Murray (7-2) Class: 4A

Was: 10. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: To this point there is nothing better than 2-0 in region play. The Spartans will look to make it 4-0 with contests with East and West.

9. Logan (7-1) Class: 4A

Was: 7. Last week: 0-1. Outlook: Sky View had its way with the Grizzlies at Logan, but now the Grizzlies are mad. Watch out Roy and Mountain Crest.

10. Cottonwood (7-3) Class: 5A

Was: 8. Last week: 0-1. Outlook: The Colts were asleep for three quarters in their loss to Clearfield but still had a chance to win it down the stretch. Next up: at Davis and host Skyline.

11. Bonneville (7-1) Class: 4A

Was: 12. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: Brandon Sholly and Aaron DeHart will have to come up big again this weekend as the Lakers host Sky View Friday night.

12. Hillcrest (7-3) Class: 5A

Was: 15. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: If the Region 3 teams haven't figured out that Hillcrest is no pushover this year, something is wrong. The Huskies have only one region game this week, and it's at Brighton Wednesday.

13. Riverton (6-4) Class: 5A

Was: 14. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: After destroying Hunter to stay unbeaten in Region 2 play, the Silverwolves host Copper Hills and travel to West Jordan. A split this week would be good.

14. Granger (8-2) Class: 5A

Was: 17. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: The Lancers are slowly but surely working their way up the 5A rankings. They are playing the second-best ball in their classification behind No. 1 Mountain View.

15. Timpanogos (5-4) Class: 5A

Was: 11. Last week: 0-1. Outlook: The T-Wolves are still struggling and are 0-1 in league play. They face must-win situations this week in order to stay in things.

16. Olympus (5-3) Class: 4A

Was: 13. Last week: 1-1. Outlook: Lost a heartbreaker at Murray last Wednesday, but bounced back with a win over Woods Cross. Spartans are at undefeated Bountiful Wednesday and host undefeated Cyprus Friday.

17. Cedar (12-0) Class: 3A

Was: 19. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: The Redmen held off Dixie by a point, but now they have two more region toughies against Snow Canyon and Hurricane this week.

18. Provo (6-3) Class: 4A

Was: 16. Last week: 1-1. Outlook: In a solid Region 6 going 1-1 in home contests this last week will force the Bulldogs to play tough on the road. They beat Spanish Fork by four and lost to A.F. by two.

19. Box Elder (6-2) Class: 4A

Was: 18. Last week: 0-1. Outlook: The Bees fell to Bonneville by 10 and now they host Mountain Crest and visit Fremont. Things aren't easy in the northern region.

20. Morgan (9-2) Class: 3A

Was: —. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: Morgan opened up Region 7 play on a great note with a home victory over Ben Lomond — one of the teams favored to win the region.
