DEREK SUTTON, Uintah: When it comes to scoring points, Sutton is right up there with everyone. He showed that as a junior by averaging 17.5 points a game, and this year he's at 21.3. He also pulls down three rebounds a game and dishes out four assists.

According to Ute coach John Nielson, Sutton has worked for it.

"He's got a great love for the game. He works hard and has a great attitude about playing," Nielson said. "That's 90 percent of the ballgame as coaches is to find kids that want to play and want to work."

He's scored 30 or better twice — 30 against Wasatch and 32 against Green River, Wyo. He also had 27 points, five rebounds and five assists against Carbon.

JOSIE WHITBY, Cyprus: If she was accused of doing everything, she would probably be guilty, but it doesn't appear that she's having much difficulty adjusting her schedule to make things work.

Not only is this talented senior the president of the Spinnaker drill team, she was a varsity starter on the volleyball team this year and was a varsity starter on the softball team last year.

"She is an extremely hard worker and always puts forth the extra effort it takes to get the job done," Cyprus High drill coach Andrea Taylor said.

Along with all that she maintains a 3.5 GPA.

"She is a great leader and all of her teammates and peers respect and admire her," Taylor said. "She is a huge asset to every team she is a part of."
