SANDY — After suffering through a 20-minute delay due to lighting and a 10-point deficit, the Jordan Beetdiggers came from behind to beat the Brighton Bengals, 40-39, in Region 3 boys prep basketball action Friday night.

After spraining his ankle in the fourth and coming back, Chad Broadhead scored five of his team-high 11 points to key the comeback for Jordan.

The Bengals had a chance to win the game, but the layup rimmed out.

Jonney Knoble led the Bengals with 11 points in a losing effort, while Weston Bell added 11 points for the victorious 'Diggers.

NORTHRIDGE 63, DAVIS 40: Jase McCormick led Northridge to a win with 18 points. Tim Sargent was the top scorer for Davis with 12 points.

VIEWMONT 57, CLEARFIELD 51: Jason Palmer scored a team-high 19 points and Tanner Frey added 17 points as Viewmont held off Clearfield, who cut the lead to four on several occasions in the fourth. Jared Moultrie led the Falcons with a game-high 20 points.

LAYTON 65, SKYLINE 64: Chris Chenowith led Layton with 16. The Eagles had a chance to win it in the final seconds, but the shot fell short.


RIVERTON 59, KEARNS 53: Tye Stauffer led the Silverwolves to a win with 12 points. Teammate Brandon Hermansen added 11 points.

TAYLORSVILLE 51, HUNTER 48: Taylorsville's Adam Tripp buried a 3-pointer with six seconds left to lift the Warriors to a win over Hunter.

BINGHAM 57, GRANGER 55: Bingham's Josh Newbold drained two free throws with four seconds left to help the Miners edge Granger.

WEST JORDAN 67, COPPER HILLS 56: Stephon Mills recorded 18 points while teammate Scott Judd added 12 as the Jaguars improved to 6-2 in region.


OREM 65, TIMPANOGOS 60: Pat Thomas scored 24 two nights after hitting for 26 against Mountain View, and Jonny Harline added 21 in the Orem win.

ALTA 51, HILLCREST 47: Josh Olsen and Bryce Pearson combined for 29 points as the Hawks squeaked past the Huskies.


LOGAN 52, FREMONT 43: Logan made up for a loss earlier this week with a nine-point win over Fremont.

BOX ELDER 72, WEBER 49: Brady Quayle's 18 points and David Yates' 16 helped lead the Bees to the win over the Warriors. Weber was led by Ty Sparrow's 18 points.

BONNEVILLE 47, MTN. CREST 45: Aaron DeHart and Brandon Sholly combined for 27 points to lead the Lakers to the region road victory.

SKY VIEW 64, ROY 32: Sky View's Nate Harris tortured Roy with his 23 points and teammate Derek Simmons added 13 as the Bobcats blasted Roy.


EAST 58, WEST 52: Chris Grant's 23 points paced the Leopards to win over rival West. Grant scored 16 of his 23 points in the second half. Sophomore Troy Randall added 16 for East.

OLYMPUS 77, HIGHLAND 65: Brandon Miller scored 25 for the Titans, who were 28-of-31 from the free throw line.

BOUNTIFUL 77, WOODS CROSS 59: Bountiful's Jeff Jensen grabbed 11 rebounds and netted a career-high 33 points as the Braves topped Woods Cross.


PROVO 59, SPANISH FORK 40: Three Bulldogs scored in double figures to give Provo the double-digit win.

TIMPVIEW 83, AMERICAN FORK 65: Matt Orme led Timpview to a 20-point with with 23 of his own.

PLEASANT GROVE 78, SPRINGVILLE 53: Cameron Hatch led Pleasant Grove with 13 points in their win over Springville. The Devils were led by Jim Amodt, who had 17 points.

LONE PEAK 74, PAYSON 59: Sam Burgess scored a game-high 23 points as the Knights crushed the Lions. Skyler Crouch led Payson with 19 points.


MORGAN 65, BEN LOMOND 60: Aaron Ewing and Justin Weeks combined for 32 points as the Trojans remained undefeated in region play. Brandon Barker's 22 points led Ben Lomond.

TOOELE 63, OGDEN 62: Kyle Brady hit the game winning jumper with two seconds left to cap a 27-point performance.

GRANITE 65, BEAR RIVER 55: Herman Johnson scored 26 to help the Farmers get past Bear River.


RICHFIELD 63, EMERY 42: Dusty Fielding and Mike Demille recorded 50 of the Wildcats' 63 points. Steven Ewell led the Spartans with 17 points.

DELTA 61, CARBON 56: Delta's Tyler Cross netted 23 points and teammates Dave Smith and Mike Corey combined for another 27 as the Rabbits edged Carbon.


PINE VIEW 72, CANYON VIEW 38: Andy Palmer led Pine View with 19 and all 12 Panthers scored in an easy win over Canyon View.

DIXIE 65, CEDAR CITY 59: Kyle Schorr led Dixie with 17 points.

SNOW CANYON 58, HURRICANE 53: Nick Hammer's 19 points shot down Hurricane.


JUDGE 65, UNION 51: Judge's Joe Sasich and David Giovacchini combined for 38 points as the Bulldogs downed Union.

LEHI 71, WASATCH 68: Matt Hadfield scored 11 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter for the Pioneers. Five Pioneers scored in double figures.


GRAND 62, MONTICELLO 60: Clint Adams scored 35 for the Buckaroos, but it wasn't enough as the Red Devils staged a fourth-quarter comeback, sealed by two Dusty Steele free throws with seven seconds left.

DUCHESNE 48, SAN JUAN 35: Duchesne controlled the second half and cruised to a 13-point win.


NORTH SUMMIT 58, GRANTSVILLE 52: North Summit's Jordan Richins netted 16 points and Jesse Calder and Jake Downard each added 11 as the Indian Braves topped Grantsville.

ROWLAND HALL 71, JUAN DIEGO 51: John Drake led Rowland Hall to an easy win with 21 points.


KANAB 69, PAROWAN 64: Josh Blaisdell's 19 points and 10-point contributions from three others got Kanab past Parowan.

ENTERPRISE 62, MILLARD 57: Despite trailing 20-10 at one point, the Wolves rallied to pick up the region win. Riley Phelps led Enterprise with 20 points while Matt Holt led Millard with a game-high 31.


GUNNISON 68, JUAB 60: Casey Dyreng's 20 points paced the Bulldogs to the win over the Wasps.

SOUTH SEVIER 52, MANTI 43: Jaron Maynes had seven rebounds and 20 points to lead South Sevier.


MERIDIAN 77, EAST CARBON 49: Meridian's defense came up big in the second half and Nolan Smith had 21 points as the Mongoose mauled East Carbon.

WENDOVER 69, DUGWAY 57: Dane Sweat led Wendover 's scoring with 33 points in their win.


WAYNE 55, ESCALANTE 43: Wayne's Scott Durfey and Jeff Oyler combined for 32 points as the Badgers topped Escalante.

INT. CHRISTIAN 54, SL LUTHERAN 36: Intermountain Christian jumped out to an early lead and never gave it up.

ST. JOSEPH 60, SL CHRISTIAN 38: Orlando Barela poured in 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds and teammate Andrew Alverez added 14 points in the victory over Salt Lake Christian. Daniel Mullins led SLC with 17 points.

WATERFORD 81, MT. VERNON 31: The Ravens, already leading 42-27 at halftime, held the Patriots to four second-half points in picking up the easy win. Ryan Judd led Waterford with 17 points.


TINTIC 50, CHRISTIAN HERITAGE 37: Cody Myers' game-high 15 points helped the Miners to a win over Christian Heritage.
