1. Bountiful (14-0) Class: 4A

Was: 1. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: The Braves are looking more and more unbeatable. They are at East and host West. Should run their record to 16-0.

2. Sky View (14-0) Class: 4A

Was: 2. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: The Bobcats are looking more and more unbeatable, but if anyone will beat them it will be Logan this Wednesday. They then host Weber on Friday.

3. Murray (11-3) Class: 4A

Was: 7. Last week: 1-1. Outlook: The Spartans moved up to No. 3 in the Class 4A rankings. They are one of the hottest teams in the state right now.

4. West Jordan (11-4) Class: 5A

Was: 10. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Bingham gave the Jags a scare, but they held on for the two-point victory. W.J. beat Copper Hills Friday to regain Class 5A's top spot.

5. Mountain View (11-4) Class: 5A

Was: 5. Last week: 0-1. Outlook: Fell by five to Orem in one of the best basketball games of the year. Despite being No. 2 in Class 5A the Bruins may still be the team to beat, but they have to earn back No. 1.

6. Granger (11-4) Class: 5A

Was: 4. Last week: 1-1. Outlook: The No. 1-ranked Lancers stumbled against struggling Bingham last week. They fell to No. 3 in Class 5A behind West Jordan and Mountain View.

7. Logan (12-2) Class: 4A

Was: 3. Last week: 1-1. Outlook: With an upset loss to Box Elder, the Grizzlies fell out of Class 4A's Top 5. They can get back in with a victory over Sky View at Smithfield.

8. Timpview (11-5) Class: 4A

Was: —. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: The Thunderbirds are 8-1 in Region 6 — one of the toughest regions in the entire state. They now deserve a little credit. They also broke into the Top 5 at No. 4.

9. Olympus (9-4) Class: 4A

Was: 11. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: Everyone talks about Bountiful, Murray and Cyprus, but the Titans are a team to be dealt with. They already beat Cyprus and are setting their sights on Murray this week.

10. Cyprus (11-3) Class: 4A

Was: 6. Last week: 0-1. Outlook: After starting the year 10-0 the Pirates are in the middle of a two-game Region 5 losing streak and dropped three of their last four. Center Mike Nay will miss their next game due to technicals and an ejection against Murray last week.

11. Jordan (9-5) Class: 5A

Was: 9. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: The Beetdiggers are tied with Timpanogos and Brighton for third place in Region 3 with 3-3 records. They are at Orem Wednesday and host Mountain View Friday.

12. Cottonwood (10-5) Class: 5A

Was: 14. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: The Colts have a chance to improve their region position, but they will have to get past Clearfield at Clearfield to do so.

13. Clearfield (10-5) Class: 5A

Was: 13. Last week: 1-1. Outlook: The Falcons had no trouble with Skyline, but they fell to Viewmont last Friday. They are still the team to beat in Region 1 with a 4-2 record.

14. Pleasant Grove (11-5) Class: 4A

Was: —. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: According to some coaches the Vikings may have the most athletic team in Region 6. They handed Timpview its only league loss. The Vikes are 7-2.

15. Orem (10-5) Class: 5A

Was: —. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: With a pair of wins over Mountain View and Timpanogos last week the Tigers are making noise in Region 3 with a 4-2 record — tied with Mountain View for the top spot.

16. Payson (11-5) Class: 4A

Was: 8. Last week: 1-1. Outlook: After beating American Fork by nine they were blown out at home by Lone Peak. Skyler Crouch, with his 37 against Am.F., may be one of the hottest players in the state.

17. Bonneville (9-5) Class: 4A

Was: 15. Last week: 1-1. Outlook: The Lakers avoided an 0-fer week with a two-point victory over Mountain Crest just days after losing to Weber.

18. Timpanogos (8-6) Class: 5A

Was: —. Last week: 1-1. Outlook: After struggling through the first part of the season the T-Wolves are putting it together. They are 3-3 but should be solid in the second half of Region 3 play. Are ranked No. 5 in Class 5A.

19. Morgan (15-2) Class: 3A

Was: 20. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Morgan was nine points shy of putting up a C-note on Emery in a nonleague home contest. They also beat Ben Lomond for the second time in Region 7 action.

20. Park City (10-6) Class: 3A

Was: —. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Park City? Yes, Park City. Coach John Benson has the Miners at 5-0 in league play, and they are believing in themselves.
