1. Mountain View (15-1) Class: 5A

Was: 1. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Danielle Cheesman and Heather Hansen scored 20 points each in the Bruins' win over Brighton last Thursday. Can anybody even compete with this team?

2. Kearns (14-2) Class: 5A

Was: 2. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: The Cougars are starting to look an awful lot like a team that wants to keep its 5A championship title. Heather Little had 16 points in last week's win over stunned Riverton.

3. Clearfield (14-2) Class: 5A

Was: 3. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: With Jennie Overdiek sinking 26 points in one game (versus Viewmont) the Falcons are looking to have a good second half.

4. Bingham (12-1) Class: 5A

Was: 4. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Miners have regrouped and are back to their winning ways. Handily beat Granger.

5. Murray (14-1) Class: 4A

Was: 6. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Jumps one spot after beating its two Davis County foes last week. The Spartans play only one game this week.

6. Highland (12-2) Class: 4A

Was: 7. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: Melissa Dennett put up 18 points in the Rams' win over Olympus, but more importantly point-guard Lindsay Orchard had a break-out game and scored 11 points to show scoring can come from Highland's perimeter.

7. Timpanogos (14-2) Class: 5A

Was: 5. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Big games last week from Malinda Johnsen and Amber Nelson with 17 and 10, respectively, in their win over Cyprus.

8. Timpview (12-3) Class: 4A

Was: 8. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Still winning after downing Lone Peak. They have a tough week with Pleasant Grove on the schedule. Megan Valgardson had a huge game with 18 points against American Fork.

9. Lone Peak (16-1) Class: 4A

Was: 9. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: The Knights have recovered from their first loss of the season and are back to winning every game. Had one of the largest margins of victory this week with a 93-32 win over Payson.

10. Judge (15-2) Class: 3A

Was: 12. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: The Bulldogs are looking forward to playing Wasatch again this month, as they've handled every other team with relative ease.

11. Alta (9-7) Class: 5A

Was: 17. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: With sophomore sensation Jill Cameron sinking 3-pointers like they're free throws, the Hawks are looking tough going into the second half of the season.

12. Sky View (11-4) Class: 4A

Was: Last week: 2-0. Outlook: How do you rank the evenly matched teams in Region 4? Well, everything should get clearer this week as the four teams tied for first (6-2 in region play) begin to meet for the second time. This is a well-coached team with offensive power.

13. Mountain Crest (12-3) Class: 4A

Was: 11. Last week: 1-1. Outlook: Lonnie Fronk's 20 points and Lacy Gustaveson's 19 in the win against Weber bode well for the Mustangs' future.

14. Logan (12-3) Class: 4A

Was: 14. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Held off those pesky Bees and 19 points from Amanda Ford to stay tied for first in Region 4. Good free-throw shooting won that game for them.

15. Fremont (11-3) Class: 4A

Was: 13. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Texie Criddle has been playing like the scoring threat she is. She had 14 points in the team's win over Roy.

16. Wasatch (14-2) Class: 3A

Was: 15. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: Still looking good, and with a 16-point performance from Shalee Fackrell, they can only get better. Feb. 9 is the Wasps' chance for redemption as they get a shot at Judge on their home court.

17. Provo (11-6) Class: 4A

Was: —. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: The Bulldogs are looking meaner than ever as Kasey Mills scored 27 in the team's win over Spanish Fork.

18. Bountiful (10-4) Class: 4A

Was: 19. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: Nancy Seljaas had a huge game against Woods Cross with 24 points in the win. The Braves are looking to turn it on in the season's second half.

19. Hurricane (14-3) Class: 3A

Was: 16. Last week: 0-1. Outlook: The Tigers have struggled with consistency but are looking to find balance as the season winds down.

20. Layton (10-5) Class: 5A

Was: 20. Last week: 2-0. Outlook: Haley Berlin had 34 points as Layton beat Skyline last week. After a slow start, the Lancers are looking to peak at just the right time.
