SHARE Little leads Murray over Olympus

Murray's Johnny Little scored 13 of his team-high 20 points in the first quarter to lead the Spartans to an 84-65 victory over Olympus in Region 5 prep boys basketball action Friday night.

Five other Murray players scored in double figures as the Spartans improved to 6-2 overall and 1-0 in league play. The Titans fell to 3-5 overall and 0-1 in league play.

Little finished with three 3-pointers, and Ryan Dial scored 14 points including two 3-pointers.

Olympus' Tyler Heugly led all scorers with 21 points, while Chase Hyatt finished with 15 points for Murray and Davis Hansen had 12, Jake Garrett 11, and Adam Deitlien 10.

NORTHRIDGE 64, FREMONT 47:Matt Emadi led Northridge with 23 points. Teammate Brad Barrett added 10 points and eight rebounds.

LAYTON 61, CLEARFIELD 54 (OT): Layton's Scott Fitzgerald scored 29 points and the Lancers made nine of 12 free throws in overtime to squeak out their first region win.

VIEWMONT 72, WEBER 55: Viewmont earned its first region win behind the 28-point performance of Jordan Matthews.


JORDAN 62, ALTA 60: Jordan's Weston Bell notched 21 points in the 2-point win.

BINGHAM 62, BRIGHTON 49: Bingham used a strong second half to pull away and earn the victory over a tough Brighton team. Mike Clark led Bingham with 17 points.

HILLCREST 50, COPPER HILLS 44: Hillcrest used a 22-point fourth quarter to finish off Copper Hills in a heated matchup.


EAST 55, BOUNTIFUL 41:Jesse Stott led the Leopards to a win with 15 points.

WEST 85, WOODS CROSS 64: Shaun Price and Lance Gummersal led West with 26 and 29 points, respectively. Brock Beck had 25 for Woods Cross.

HIGHLAND 78, CYPRUS 66:Jordan Owen led the Rams offensively with 17 points. Teammates Eric Daniels and Brian Smith added six and nine points, respectively.


PANGUITCH 97, BRYCE VALLEY 58: Acey Burningham scored 29 points with the aid of four 3-pointers, and Adam Howard, Landon Fullmer and Brett Sawyer had 14 each for Panguitch. Kytlin Chynoweth led Bryce Valley with 22 points.


TABIONA 58, MANILA 47: Tiger Riley Bagley scorched the nets for 30 points as Tabiona secured its first region win.

DUCHESNE 53, UINTAH RIVER 44:Logan Despain led Duchesne with 20 points, while Leland Chapoose scored 20 points for Uintah River in a losing effort in Region 16.


DUGWAY 75, MOUNT VERNON 71:Nathan Nelson led Dugway to a win with 35 points.


WENDOVER 53, JACKPOT, NEV. 43:Shaps Tripp led Wendover with 19 points.

MORGAN 81, LOGAN 64: Morgan's Skyler Benson scored 32 points in the victory over Logan. Jacob Nelson scored 22 points in the losing effort.

BISHOP GORMAN 70, SNOW CANYON 61: Snow Canyon's Ben Hartman scored 20 points in a losing effort.

BOX ELDER 60, LEHI 47: The Bees outrebounded the Pioneers 39-23, and cousins Jared Quayle and Brady Quayle combined to scored 29 points as Box Elder improved to 10-1.

MOUNTAIN VIEW 50, PAYSON 49: Mountain View narrowly escaped with a win over Payson to improve to 5-6 on the year.

SPANISH FORK 62, TIMPANOGOS 47:Aaron Treanor led Spanish Fork to a win over Timpanogos with 16 points.

LONE PEAK 70, SPRINGVILLE 42: Lone Peak had little trouble with Springville in their preseason matchup. Lone Peak improves to 5-6 with the win.

DELTA 51, HURRICANE 42: Delta's Tyler Greathouse scored 16 points in the Rabbits' victory.

AMERICAN FORK 69, PLEASANT GROVE 53: American Fork ran away from Pleasant Grove in the second half of this hard fought matchup. Andrew Van Buren led the Cavemen with a great defensive performance and 12 points, while teammate Zach Adamson finished with 20 points.

DIXIE 67, NORTH SANPETE 62: North Sanpete committed more than 20 turnovers in the loss. Adam Christensen scored 18 for the Flyers and Jeff Wright had 19 points and 11 rebounds for North Sanpete.

TIMPVIEW 59, OREM 44:Travis Clyde scored 22 points for Timpview.

KEARNS 68, GRANITE 28:Ryan Oldroyd scored 13 points as the Cougars buried the Farmers for their first win of the year.

JUDGE MEMORIAL 49, JUAN DIEGO 45 (OT):Mick Morales led Judge Memorial with 14 points as the Bulldogs pulled out the four-point win in overtime.

UNION 70, BEN LOMOND 60: Bob Brotherson had 25 points and 12 rebounds for Union in their win over Ben Lomond in the Cougar Classic.

EVANSTON, WYO. 72, UINTAH 54: Evanston outscored Uintah 27-8 in the third quarter.

WASATCH 65, OGDEN 48: The Wasps improved their record to 4-4 as Josh Cottle recorded 23 points, and Jeff Gertsch chipped in with 17.

SAN JUAN 76, GRAND 61: Farley Crofts scored 25 points for San Juan in its first home game of the year.

MILLARD 45, JUAB 43:Scott Nixon hit a jumper with two seconds left in the game to give Millard the win. Teammate Matt Robison led all scorers with 24 points.

ROWLAND HALL 64, RICH 53: Brandon Rasmusson poured in 28 points and Ryan Olson added 13 for Rowland Hall. Blake Pugmire and Kyle Motta had 12 each for Rich.

VALLEY 84, ESCALANTE 51: The Buffaloes stayed undefeated with the victory.

WAYNE 52, MILFORD 46: Wayne overcame a first half deficit to defeat Milford in a preseason matchup.

TINTIC 48, CHRISTIAN HERITAGE 43:Daniel Gomez led Tintic with 18 points.

BONNEVILLE 65, BEAR RIVER 53: Dustin Clark netted 13 points, while Todd Hellstrom and Andrew Rich each added 11 points as the Lakers earned their second win of the year.
