OREM — Wrestlers from around the state will gather at UVSC's McKay Events Center for the second annual Utah Amateur Wrestling Foundation All-Star Match at 7 p.m. Admission is $5.
The 5A/4A team beat the 3A/2A/1A team 34-27 last year, and there's no doubt the smaller schools are seeking revenge.
Thousand of fans packed Jordan High School last year, so event organizers wanted a larger venue for this year.
One of the most intriguing matches is at 145 pounds. Both Jeff Newby and Bryant Anderson are three-time state champs.

ABOUT SANDERSON: Son of ex-Wasatch coach Steve Sanderson and younger brother of Cael Sanderson, Sanderson is the youngest wrestler at the meet and 21-3 this year, with a win at the Layton Invitational. GPA is 3.98.
ABOUT HOCHSTRASSER: Sophomore is a returning state champ who owns a 60-4 career record. Finished in the top 12 at the Beast of the East in Delaware. GPA is 3.5.

ABOUT KJAR: Two-time state champ is making second appearance at all-star meet. The senior's career record is 103-6. He is 21-2 this year, with both losses coming at the Beast of the East. GPA is 3.37.
ABOUT HACKING: The senior is 14-4 this year, with a career record of 112-33. Finished third in 3A last year. Was the Greco Roman State Champ in 1997-98. GPA is 2.70

ABOUT TEEPLES: Few wrestlers are as decorated as Teeples. He is a two-time state champ, with two team titles as well. He has a 96-6 career record and is undefeated this year. GPA is 3.5.

ABOUT HARDY: Senior is a defending state champ after finishing fifth as a sophomore. Has helped lead Box Elder to three straight state championships. GPA is 3.0.
ABOUT BUTLER: With a perfect record so far this year, the senior seems like a good bet to repeat as state champ. He participated in last year's all-star event and won at 103 pounds. GPA is 3.88.

ABOUT STEED: If this year's state tournament follows Steed's trend, the senior should be a state champion. He finished third as a sophomore and second as a junior. He is 11-1 this year and 78-14 in his career. GPA is 3.60.
ABOUT DANSIE: Last year he finished first at state and the Rocky Mountain Nationals, second at the Tulsa Nationals and eighth at the Reno Tournament. GPA is 3.95.

ABOUT BRADSTREET: Senior is 20-2 this year, including a first-place finish at the Rocky Mountain Rumble. The defending state champ also has a seventh-place finish at the Reno Tournament to his credit. GPA is 3.1.
ABOUT PETERSEN: Defending state champ is a big reason Delta is the 3A favorite this year. Finished first at the Millard Tournament and fourth at the Rumble. GPA is 3.7.

ABOUT LAMANO: Few wrestlers are as unbeatable as this senior. He is a two-time state champ with a career record of 95-9. He is 15-0 this year. GPA is 3.72.
ABOUT SALAZAR: Though he's just a sophomore, Salazar is already showing signs of greatness. He finished fourth at state last year and is 12-4 this year with a win at the Layton Invitational. GPA is 3.5.

ABOUT NEWBY: This senior's credentials are amazing. He is a three-time state champ with a career record of 129-18. He finished second at the Reno Tournament last year and third as a sophomore. GPA is 3.89.
ABOUT ANDERSON: Another three-time state champ, Anderson is 144-10 during his career. He is 25-1 this year. The senior is also a two-time baseball all-stater. GPA is 3.48.

ABOUT KJAR: The Templars' team captain finished third at state last year. This year he's finished first at the Panguitch Tournament as well as Manti's Holiday Classic. He is 23-2 this year. GPA is 3.86.

ABOUT JACKSON: Was a state champion at Rich High School as a sophomore and finished second at Mountain Crest last year. Career record is 60-22 with a 11-3 mark this year. GPA is 3.2.
ABOUT WOODS: With his 25-0 record so far, this senior appears to be on his way to his first state title. He finished third as a junior and second as a sophomore. GPA is 3.7.

ABOUT LOFTHOUSE: The sophomore hasn't lost this year in racking up titles at the Rocky Mountain Rumble and the Viewmont Invitational. Was second at state last year. GPA is 4.0.
ABOUT HABIBIAN: A returning all-star, Habibian took state as a sophomore last year. He is a two-time Cadet All-American, finished second at the Fila Nationals and has a career record of 99-5. GPA is 3.0.

ABOUT STORY: Last year's state champ is already 17-1 this year and has a career record of 84-21. He is a two-time freestyle state champ and a Greco-Roman state champ. GPA is 3.88.
ABOUT SINGLETON: Three-time region champ is chasing first state title. He finished second as a junior and third as a sophomore. Career record is 111-30. GPA is 4.0.
