Donna Hardcastle Gotberg, age 66, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2002, of a brain aneurysm.
She was born to James Ira and
LaVon Dimond Hardcastle on July 6, 1935. She was married on July 1, 1953 to David Lee Gotberg in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Donna was very active in the LDS Church and served in many positions. For the last 42 months, she and David have been serving as Substance Abuse Recovery Missionaries, which she loved and looked forward to daily. Donna felt the most joy in serving as a missionary and being with her family.
She is survived by her beloved
husband, David; children, Mark (Saundra), Brenda (Brian Jeppson), Byron (Krista), Colleen (Glen
Plaizier), 14 grandchildren; sister, Ramona (Paul Madsen); sister-in-law, Vivian Hardcastle. Preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother, Dimond Hardcastle.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 11, 2002, at 1 p.m. in the Sandy 1st Ward Chapel, 8680 So. 220 East. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State Thursday from 6-8 p.m. or Friday at the church from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the LDS Family Services Substance Abuse Recovery Mission to be used for LDS books placed in prison and jail libraries.
